This land is alive

Animated by spirit in every crevasse, life holding chasm and rocky range

Echoes of the ancestors reverberating throughout expansive skies and never ending landscapes

The light dancing in its incandescent dynamism — letting you know — you are not alone

The land expressing there is something so much bigger out there in it’s silent stoicism

To feel something both so ancient and alive does something deep within your bones

it speaks to your soul — captivating your attention — communing with your heart, infusing an essence of awe.

It is a remembering of who you are at the very core, and why you came here — to be

It burns all that is not of substance away, it questions your desires and highlights the grit — leaving the cavernous spaces exposed

Drying up those river beds, and tending to the to the sores

emerging from the substratum

lifting, opening and expanding

rising you from the descent

whilst simultaneously holding you closer in intimacy

than you have ever experienced before

And your left with the paradox of feeling something so vast — yet so deeply simple.

I acknowledge the Arrente People as the traditional custodians of the lands where I live, learn and work.

I honour and pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging - holding in deep reverence their continued connection to the land, waters and community.

I acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.

AUSTRALIA WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE ABORIGINAL LAND.
