There is certainly a long way to go, in regards to recognising equality between the two masculine and feminine polarities societally, and as we face dismantling the patriarchy — which has been oppressive for not only those that identify as women, but also those who do not identify as white males — we are certainly faced with a very large task of recognition, reconciliation and re-education for years upon years to come. Statistically, this is an incredibly large portion of our population globally that have been affected by this construct, and it goes without saying this construct still affects every single person living today.

However, there seems to be a fight occurring between the two polarities, with some arguing that the matriarchy should reign. I feel that this approach of either being one or the other is counter-intuitive, as it’s only further creating division, separation, and certainly not unifying the collective.

It shouldn’t be one or the other, and this is the separatist patriarchal mentality that got us where we stand today. We both need the other to survive and exist — and, if we are going into the Age of Aquarius, like we say we are — cultivating connection, respect and unity within all expressions of life is paramount to this process.

There is no doubt we are heading into a all inclusive non-binary system and society, which will start to defy all conditioned stereotypes, whereby multitudes of diasporas within community will be birthed, relished and accepted wholeheartedly by the collective. However, we are very much in the early stages of this process, and there is a lot of attention, education and healing that needs to take place to create long and lasting change — helping forge this new, and all encompassing societal arena.

There are many examples of how these “masculine” and “feminine” archetypes interplay with each other, as their dynamic is woven into the natural rhythms and cycles of nature — our greatest teacher from which we are all birthed from.

For example, the Sun, is commonly recognised as the yang principle|masculine archetype, and the Moon as the yin principle|femine archetype.

One can witness their dialogue as they dance together in our skies — both equally as important as the other in the process of cultivating and sustaining life here on earth.

The Sun works with the plants process of photosynthesis, creating energy for plants food and growth, and as a byproduct, emits our very special oxygen in which we breathe.

The Moon's gravitational pull draws up minerals and moisture from the soil, helping stimulate germination and growth; which also sustains and keeps the plants healthy. Using the moons cycles, within the larger seasonal cycles has been a practice used and studied by indigenous cultures and farmers for eons.

This understanding of growth, and the interplay of the elements has helped the nurturance of the plants poignantly through its stages of cultivation, all the way through to harvest. It is said that the sweetest fruits are always picked in alignment with the full moon.

This process deeply honours the inherent energetics and cycles, which are laden within and expressed through the seasons — summer and winter also being another expression of polarity in which we are faced with.

The moon's presence may be a little more subtle, but she is certainly just as powerful. That is why the Moon is also linked with our subconscious realms, and our darker sides of our nature — she works with the hidden, bringing it to life, as well as having impact and potency over our emotional sphere, which we feel deeply, but again remains unseen to the naked eye.

The point is, these forces are in an integral dialogue and communion with one another, they create this balance. One active and growth orientated, and one restful and restorative. Both creating and birthing life together. Furthermore, it doesn’t have to be one or the other. It is both, and the consistent interaction of these two luminary forces, inclusive of all flavours, colours, and experiences in between.

We are forever being reminded to come back to this balance by nature, whether it be in recognising abundance or decline, we are being called to this centre point — to recognise, yes, we may feel polarities or be able to perceive overwhelming paradox in this life. Yet, the paradox needs to exist for us to perceive difference, or to even simply perceive ourselves.

So, instead of perceiving difference as something threatening to our own personal existence, we should embrace it as something unique and interesting — honouring the difference. Particularly, for the unique teachings that the difference offers.

There is so much to learn when we come into presence with something that we are not used to. These differences create substance, adding potently to life, and allowing for greater depth within the teachings and philosophy of what it means to be expressive of one's humanity in this life experience.

When we unify these two seemingly opposing forces, meeting at the centre point — this is when we will see the change we have all been waiting for, this is when we put down our guards, and truly accept the other in deep reverence.•🌑✨
