Sun in Cancer

All hail — The Sun has now moved from the cerebral sign of Gemini, and entered the cardinal and feelings based sign of Cancer. Get ready for time to warp, and a mirage of all things mystical and occult to appear!

Cancer, is archetypically ruled by the Crab, and its planetary alignment is with the energy of the Moon. Therefore it is associated with the Divine Feminine and Yin Expression. Although, as Cancer is a cardinal sign, she initiates and remains active, and is known for planting the seeds and sewing them at all the right times.

The Moon works in unison with the sun, as a powerful reflection of the unconscious phases of existence — subtlety glowing and glimmering steadfastly throughout the night. She is receptive, cooling, healing, highly attuned, and is an embodiment of the creative life force which helps drive and intuit all creation here on earth.

The divine mother archetype relentlessly feeds and nourishes us All, from seasons of plenty, to the colder months of rations and decline. She is like death in a sense, rejuvenating and preparing us for rebirth each morning when we wake to father Sun. She is a mystical and magnetic force that guides us home through the darkest of hours, and we are kept safe within her silence. We traverse with her where the veils are thin, to the other side — taking us to the dream world, and subconscious realms. Unveiling the unseen within us, and speaking to the multidimensionality in which this physical plane of consciousness is laced within.

The Moon rules the tides and our waterways, and therefore she also rules our own tides and emotional states. Just as the tides, we too are endlessly undergoing metamorphosis, one state change to the next, the constant alchemy of the Moon guides us from one Moon phase to the next, and even our planting cycles are constructed around her. She is rather quick with her movements, and therefore can create turbulence at times within our emotional spheres.

Therefore, over this next lunar cycle, we may come into contact with some more unspoken material from our emotional depths, which needs to be expressed and received by not only ourselves but our most intimate associates. It is a time to really be tuning into our own creative processes, as an outlet for the divine to be unveiled, truthfully seen, felt, processed and understood.

It is a time to listen to our emotional currents, and as it is placed on the Cancer|Capricorn security axis of the zodiac, we look to find emotional security, nurturance, and soul connection within community and soul family as our healing medicine, rather than outer forms of security like money, our jobs or any physical acquisitions.

This season, we learn to be protective of our kin, and connect to them through deep listening, feeling and communication. Through connecting in this way we create a safe space for those we love and cherish to feel fully accepted and held by us unwaveringly — this is the missing medicine of our generation — true connection. The Moon urges us to connect beyond the superficial facades, adding much depth and meaning to the way in which we encounter everyday life.

Intimacy and soul family is what makes this life worth living. To do this life alone would be extremely unsatisfying — not to mention very sad and lonely.
