For us in the Southern Hemisphere we are at the point in our cycle where we are enduring the longest day, and shortest night.

This means that the suns rays are at its most potent and peak intensity. The sun is at its highest in our skies and can be felt by all of us here in the South.

As we soak in and connect to our inner vitality and life force during this brief sojourn, we open ourselves up to receive the gifts from its light, as a reflection of its sustenance and all pervasive power.

On the other hand, our polarity in the Northern Hemisphere is experiencing its darkest day and longest night. This is a peak time of interiorisation and slowing down. The North’s dark night of the soul, and as the great saying goes, it’s always darkest just before dawn. This is a time of going within, and cultivating ones internal world, it is a time of holding space, shedding and laying to rest.

Everything works in poles, the shift ever constant, the balance and equanimity paramount to the forces of nature — recognising the importance of both yin and yang aspects in life is integral.

We are oftentimes not used to taking the time we need to process. There is so much potency in the slowing down, and in the rest, because it’s in the moments that we rest, we allow for recalibration to occur. Space is made, and within the space, we allow for new growth to occur and take shape.

Now, as we ready ourselves for the imminent change, from this day onwards we now start the journey back into the underworld, the descent. And, The North starts their ascent, into the light and into a cycle of growth and prosperity — it’s a process of death and rebirth for all of us collectively.

It is incredibly poignant that the great conjunction is happening on the day that marks the extreme of one cycle, yet the change into the next — this is certainly a auspicious signpost that change is coming.

Let us all embrace the dawning of a new era, heralding in — The age of Aquarius.•♒︎
