May you watch the world around you, in awe. For its fleeting moments of brilliance, for its sustained resistance, and even for its gut wrenching heartbreak.
There is beauty always happening, and sometimes in our most dire circumstances we are gifted the most tremendous heartfelt support — the most sacred, the most meaningful.
It is in these moments that true bonding occurs. It is in these moments we recognise our humanity, and the humanity in the other.
And in this, we are shown what it means to be alive, what it means to be connected — what really matters, what touches us to our core.
It is in these moments we see, and we see lucidly who extends their hand, who comes and stands with us, and who holds us just the way we need. We see how our energy reacts — who puts a smile on our face, who takes an edge off our anxiety, who makes us feel at home in our bodies.
We see what past times take us out of the dark cavern, feeling a beacon of luminosity once more — even if it’s all only momentarily.
For it is in heartbreak, the darkest of nights, that we are given the choice to nourish our soil. To tend to our gardens, weeding out what we do not wish to carry forth, as we plant seeds with great meaning — calling forth brighter days.
It is in these moments we are seeding our future selfs, we are tending to our soul — and it can only be done by feeling our way through.
It is by a deep and solidified recognition for all that is good, all that is nurturing, and all that guides us back to a feeling of home.
It’s a choice to appreciate where the darkness leads you, to see how it wears away at all that doesn’t truly matter.
It is a choice within the darker days, to call forth the beauty and wonder — it’s a choice to see the beauty in it all.
