There is a whole lot of fixed air energy this New Moon, in fact there is a massive stellium of planets, including Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, Pallas Athena, as well as our luminaries, the Sun and the Moon all meeting in the sign of the water bearer, Aquarius. This is a powerful culmination of new possibilities, and is certainly a time marked by the capacity to implement long and lasting change, that of which we have been working towards for the past couple of months if not years. This is a time of looking deeply, yet objectively at our movements forward not only transpersonally, but importantly how we as individuals fit into and find community within the whole — looking to whom we place and connect ourselves with, those who really enrich our lives and help articulate what we really stand for.

The chart ruler of this lunation is Uranus, and Uranus is known as the Great Liberator and Higher Mind of the zodiac. Uranus is creating a strong square to Saturn, Lord of Time and Karma — this aspect is not an easy one that is pointing towards a very timely crisis in consciousness, a fork in the road, where we can no longer separate ourselves from what is going on collectively at this time. We are at a pivotal time of integration of collective lessons — we are living out the actions of our predecessors, and we are faced with the consequences, whether socio-economic or environmental problems that have been surfacing from our disconnect with the natural world and community living. We now face the ominous task of strategizing and actioning necessary changes, which allow for a massive shift into an expression of humanity that is serving of all sentient beings.

Mercury is in retrograde in Aquarius, and is asking us to recalibrate our minds, and to be open to a new future potential. This is where we may have to have some long and hard looks at our conditioning, and the old paradigm that leaves us standing where we are today. As the saying goes — we cannot answer and overcome a current situation, with the same thinking that created the said situation. This is where we will need to look to new avenues, new technologies, and be incredibly innovative in our approach, really evolving with the times and at an accelerated rate.

Mercury is making a square to Mars in Taurus, which is pointing towards and heightening a change in mind, or impulsive movements, that might not be leaving us seeing eye to eye with our current circumstances. There is certainly friction, and Mercury is a change agent, the messenger of the gods, and will be upheaving any information stored in our depths that really needs to be brought to light and dissected and integrated accordingly.

Mars in Taurus is asking for slow and steady action, a very grounded attempt at implementing the long lasting change. We may be dabbling with the dichotomy of change/liberation vs security, and this celestial energy is here to evoke a lifetime's shake up. The heavy Uranian energy wants us to really get us to understand what it is beyond the security of money, the stability of home, and the essentials of food we as humans require, because life is about so much more than just that. It is asking us to really see what we as humans desire at a fundamentally core level, and that is to feel community and to feel love. It is through being truly accepted with open arms as our authentic selves — into a new paradigm of connecting and associating with others on this earth, we as humans and individuals will thrive and flourish.

Anyone with fixed energy in their charts, will find this transit a difficult one, as this brazen Aquarian energy can come across as nothing short of intensely fierce, with a side serving of aloof unknown weirdness. A shadow expression of the Aquarian archetype is the capacity to neglect ourselves and what we really need, by disassociating from our heart spaces. As Aquarian energy when finding things too intense, or forthcoming with emotion can use cognitive dissonance as a crutch, and completely reject what is coming through creating a whole lot of distance and blank space, really leaving us feeling the unknown or uncertainty of the future in a numb manner.

Therefore, it is integral that we keep connecting to ourselves, taking time out to really practice mindfulness techniques that can get us feeling a stronger sense of embodiment within our beings. Moving the body, and enlivening the senses are always good was at connecting on the visceral level, taking us away from the mind. Get outside, connect with loved ones, and really feel what life is about beyond the tiny walls of your bedroom or office. Turn off your phone, and be with yourself, your thoughts, your being, or be with your loved ones — really be there with them, with no distractions.

During this transit it will be important to pose the question “What do you want to remember your life by?” — Start living in honour of that remembrance today, all we have is now to make a difference, the change starts within you.•🌐✨
