Initiation Matters

It’s honestly concerning the severe lack of true and proper initiation that individuals are going through in these times.
It’s nothing short of negligent and dangerous — whilst also causing a whole lot of disharmony to the energetics of the land.
There is a severe lack of true embodiment and time spent nuancing the healing crafts. True mastery is only achieved through one tirelessly devoting and embodying their craft. Over years and years, and years.
Instagram has a way of making people look good — if marketed in a desirable way, or people look at followers and assume that the person must be good at what they do because they are in the thousands. Most of the time, people engage on this platform in a very ocular and superficial manner.
Ive witnessed it myself — post a selfie, and the likes are far greater, than a picture of nature by ten fold. The algorithm works in a entirely reductive manner that supports peoples looks versus the actual quality of their mind and content. Its oftentimes a sad reality to be faced with, as this is a platform that gets so much engagement from our generation.
I urge you to look beyond the hot pics, baiting catch phrases, and hyper grabbing content — to understand in a deeper way, the people in which you choose to work with.
Ive seen throughout my time, people doing a week of yoga training and then going on immediately to teach, and somehow thinking that they are qualified to teach such a profound ancient science.
There are people doing weekend workshops on breathwork and then offering it as part of their toolkit, when in fact breathwork has the capacity to completely blow your energetic system if done incorrectly.
Ive seen people doing a year of inner work — and having a spiritual awakening, and then offering luxury retreats.
Or even people just reading a book on something and somehow thinking that they are qualified to teach it.
And what I have seen a whole lot of is people going to the jungle for a couple of months and somehow thinking that they are a shaman, initiated enough to take on the spirit realm.
I’ve had to deal with clients who have bitten off a whole lot more than they can chew, and have basically f**ked their energetic systems because they have been serving medicine in a very negligent manner, thinking that they are healing themselves (and others), when in fact they are actually blowing and distorting their whole energetic system through creating pathways and portals that they do not know how to shut down, as well as opening themselves up to hosting many other entities and attachments.
Ive had to clear people after they have sat medicine ceremonies with known medicine keepers, and they then have a whole host of entities that weren’t present prior to the ceremony.
This should absolutely not be happening. You should be coming out of these spaces renewed, and better than you entered them.
These spaces are supposed to be healing spaces.
I cannot stress this enough, as I have been one who has participated in ceremony with someone who is known as a “master” shaman, and yet lacks the psychic hygiene skills to keep the space safe. It took me months to recover from the damage, yet I was lucky, as there are some who will actually be recovering from the damage ensued from their ceremonies for the rest of their lives.
The one blessing from this experience was that once this occurred, all the veils were lifted. My bullshit radar came online, and I had the vision for who and what was actually a safe space — and to be quite frank — there are few and far between.
I really urge you to know who you work with really well, to know who their mentor or guides are — or have been, and what kind of training they have had.
Initiations take years. And to be honest, sometimes those years are not enough, if not done within a lineage of wisdom keepers that guide in how to deal with the perils of the spirit realm, or traverse the fine nuances within energy bodies and their reactions to practices.
Understand if who you are working with has worked through lineages that hold a gravity of knowledge — don’t be afraid to ask the questions.
There are very good reasons why these systems have been held within lineage.
And there are people taking these modalities into a “neo” context, which then creates unsafe space because all the safety protocols and tools are then lost, and the body of work is not upheld.
Back in the day, yogic initiations took decades, if not a lifetime of devotion. Same with most ancient healing practices. Even someone who has completed a 200hr Yoga teaching training, I would say lacks the time necessary spent. These courses and so forth have all been colonialised to make money for people, which has bastardised the healing “industry” and basically spits people out with a certificate, even when they have been far from worthy — all because they have paid.
If your medicine server hasn’t been given the blessing to take the medicine home and serve it from the peoples from the lands in which the medicine comes from, then I would be severely questioning being a participant. And furthermore, if your medicine person hasn’t got the consent from the local mob from the area of which they are working, that is another huge red flag.
Im writing this, because this is all very serious stuff, and its not to be taken lightly. Energy work requires care, mentorship, and furthermore true initiation. Its important to know who has the vision to keep you safe, as otherwise, you could be wearing the frightening consequences of poor space-holding — taking on more damage than good.
